This Cookie Policy explains how ProgExam uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies when you visit the website or use services such as Moodle and the online compiler.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the ProgExam website, Moodle-based learning environment, online compiler interfaces and other pages operated under the ProgExam domain.
Cookies are small text records placed in a browser. ProgExam also uses similar technologies, including local storage and session storage. These technologies may remember preferences, maintain authenticated sessions, enforce technical usage limits or, where permission has been given, measure website use.
2. Categories of technologies
Necessary technologies
Necessary technologies are used to provide functionality requested by the user, maintain authentication and security, enforce compiler execution limits, prevent abuse, preserve technical state and remember interface preferences.
These technologies are always active because relevant parts of the service could not operate reliably or securely without them.
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help ProgExam understand aggregate visits and interactions with the website. Google Analytics is not loaded unless the visitor enables analytics through the cookie preference interface.
Analytics consent is optional. Refusing analytics does not prevent access to the website, Moodle or the compiler.

4. Compiler visitor identifiers
ProgExam stores pseudonymous visitor identifiers in browser local storage for compiler operation. These identifiers may be associated with compiler-use records, relevant IP-address information and an authenticated Moodle user where applicable.
This processing is performed to enforce code-execution limits, prevent users from bypassing those limits, detect misuse, associate activity with the correct visitor or account, and protect the availability and security of the compiler.
Compiler visitor identifiers are not used as a substitute for optional Google Analytics consent.
5. Google Analytics
Where a visitor enables analytics, ProgExam loads Google Analytics to measure visits and interactions. Analytics may process technical data such as browser and device information, page addresses, interaction events, approximate location derived from network data and online identifiers.
Google states that its main Analytics cookie distinguishes one visitor from another and may remain for up to two years. Google may also use property-specific Analytics cookies. The exact duration may be affected by configuration, consent choices and browser controls.
Google Analytics is a service provided by Google. Its processing infrastructure may involve countries outside Türkiye. Further information is available through Google’s privacy and cookie documentation.
6. Your choices
Necessary technologies cannot be disabled through the ProgExam preference interface because they support authentication, requested functionality, compiler limit enforcement, abuse prevention or service security.
Optional analytics is disabled by default. You may accept it, reject it or change your selection later.
You may also use browser controls to inspect, block or delete cookies and stored website data. Blocking necessary technologies through browser settings may cause authentication, Moodle or compiler functionality to stop working correctly.
7. Consent withdrawal
Withdrawing analytics permission prevents future Analytics events from being sent by ProgExam and triggers an attempt to remove Analytics cookies accessible to the website.
Withdrawal does not affect processing performed before the choice was changed. Browser settings may also be used to delete remaining stored data.
8. Changes to this policy
ProgExam may update this policy when technologies, providers, processing purposes or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
